Marathon update

On July 7 at 12:00 AM (DST) / 6:00 PM (UTC) we will go live with the TwilightRealm Zelda Marathon 2012! For 72 hours straight you can watch us play Zelda until it ends on July 10. We will be playing to raise money for Child’s Play Charity, helping out to achieve their goal to make the lives of sick children all over the world a little better during their stay at a hospital.

Ofcourse we cannot do this without help, so here’s how you can chip in:

  • Tell your friends, family, anyone willing to hear about it. Share it on Twitter and Facebook, reddit, post it on message boards, etc. We can use as much exposure as possible! :)
  • Do you happen to be the owner of a gaming related website and would like to plug the event? Awesome! Get in touch for more information about our marathon.
  • We’ve already got some awesome stuff to give away, but we could always use extra sponsors. So do you sell videogame/Nintendo merchandise online and are you willing to sponsor giveaways or do you know anyone we could get in touch with? Please let us know by contacting us!

TwilightRealm Marathon 2012

If you follow @TRwallpapers on Twitter, you may have already seen it being mentioned… TwilightRealm.net will have its very own Zelda marathon this summer! After over a year and a half of planning I can finally announce it:

From July 7 at 6pm UTC+1 until July 10 at 6pm UTC+1 we’ll be playing several titles of the Zelda franchise, for 72 hours straight to raise money and awareness for Child’s Play Charity. As of now, preparations are still in full force, but a few testruns will be held very soon so keep an eye on our Twitter: @TRmarathon!

More details will be found on the upcoming TwilightRealm Marathon specific website, currently still in development but launching not too long from now.

New exclusive wallpaper: Leaving Skyloft

In light of the upcoming release of Skyward Sword, and ofcourse, because a new exclusive wallpaper was waaayyy overdue, I thought it was time for a new wallpaper. This one’s been sitting in its PSD for quite a while (like many others*), unfinished. Today I managed to add what I felt was missing and uploaded it for you guys to download. Enjoy this new exclusive!

* No, I haven’t forgotten about the requests ;) Please be patient ♥

Updated officials

New and (very much) improved: two official Ocarina of Time wallpapers! Due to the upcoming launch of Ocarina of Time 3DS, hi-res versions of the 13-year old game’s artwork have surfaced. Being the Zelda artwork hoarder that I am¹, I ofcourse grabbed ‘em and updated this and this wallpaper featured here on Twilight Realm right away. Because the -ever so gorgeous- artwork is so large, I added a bunch of high resolution versions and even HD size: Wallpapers now go up to 1920×1200! You can’t get ‘em in better quality than this! Enjoy :)

Edit 04/17: Even more re-released artwork popped up and that, ofcourse, means two more updated wallpapers! Plus four new ones, all in über high quality and HD. Check ‘em out over here!

¹ No really, I currently have 750 870MB worth of Zelda artwork… And counting!

It’s here!!

Can someone say FINALLY? Oy, after 6 months(!) I made a new wallpaper for you guys. And this isn’t some wallpaper – it’s a Skyward Sword wallpaper!! Ofcourse I saw Nintendo’s conference live yesterday as I do every year, and as it started off with a demonstration of the newest Legend of Zelda I just couldn’t wait to make a wallpaper for it. And here it is!

What I think of Skyward Sword? Well, for starters I have trouble remembering the name… But generally I think it looks pretty cool. I kinda like the “painted” look, it’s like a mixture of Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker :) What I didn’t like? The amount of movement that’s necessary to control Link seems like you have to stand up in order to play… I don’t know about you, but I prefer to kick back on the couch while playing Zelda, and not stand up. Especially since Zelda isn’t much of a pick-up-and-play type of game, so I figure standing up all the time can become quite tiresome. But I’ll wait and see how it works out :) I’m still excited for it!
