Hi guys! I know, I know, long time no update… Again. As usual, busy busy busy. But I just had to post this, because I feel this project needs more exposure as it’s so awesome. I came across this project, named The Zelda Project by *Adella on deviantART (an excellent and stunning cosplayer herself!) and I think it’s simply amazing.
The Zelda Project is a Los Angeles, CA based group of friends who seek to bring to life the characters, settings, and overall feel of Ocarina of Time through photography and film. Our ultimate goal is to create the characters as they would appear in reality to the best of our abilities, placing them in beautiful sceneries true to their Hyrulean counterparts, and creating elaborate photosets, as well as a film short (coming once the cosplay segment of the project is completed!).
Now, I’m no big fan of cosplay because I feel that if you’re gonna dress up as a character, you gotta put some effort into the whole package and not just the outfit. Not many cosplayers pull that off sadly… A good cosplay in my opinion, is one where the person cosplaying looks very close to the original character. And this project downright nailed it. Take a look:
Not only do the shots capture the mood perfectly, but the cosplayers actually make it look like IRL Zelda. And that’s about the biggest compliment I can give about cosplay! So, if you have a dA account, be sure to subscribe and favorite their work :) Or visit their website and see what’s coming next!
